Trevor Wilford 1945-2016
Earlier this week PennWhite received the sad news of the death of our former sales manager Trevor Wilford.
Trevor worked at PennWhite from 1990 to 2001 and made a significant contribution to the growth and sucess of our young business. As well as playing a key role in the development of products such as Silstrip, we estimate he secured around 3000 orders during his 11 years with us. The customers Trevor worked with during those early years remain part of our business today and PennWhite will be forever grateful for his contribution.
Our Managing Director John Whitehead called Trevor “A real salesman”. If you know John you’ll understand that this is the highest praise and reflects the regard he held for Trevor, both professionally and personally.

PennWhite; Stage 3 Is Go!
Congleton town centre was packed earlier today as the third stage of the 2016 Tour of Britain got underway. The riders are now heading for the Peak District before returning to Tatton Park for the finish. Despite the hills, it could be a sprinter’s stage, PennWhite has it’s fingers crossed for Cav!

Stage 3 of the 2016 Tour of Britain starts in our old home town of Congleton tomorrow before heading into the Peak District. We’re proud to be a sponsor of this fabulous stage in Cheshire and hope to see you on the road supporting Cav, Wiggo and the other riders as they race towards the finish in Tatton Park.
PennWhite ISO 9001 Certified For 16th Year
Intertek Certification Ltd visited PennWhite on 24th August to carry out their annual assessment of PennWhite’s ISO 9001 Management Systems.
During the audit Intertek reviewed PennWhite’s production procedures, checked the traceability of goods and the management of non-conformances, as well as talking to staff about sales order processing and purchasing. Afterwards Intertek were able to confirm that the policies and procedures in place at PennWhite remain in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. As a result the ISO 9001 Management System at PennWhite remains independently certified for a sixteenth consecutive year.
Managing Director John Whitehead commented, “As PennWhite grows ISO 9001 provides a structure which supports the business and helps keep our focus on customer satisfaction. As we begin the process of integrating ISO 9001 and 14001 it will continue to be a crucial part of our organisation.”
PennWhite Sponsor Tour of Britain
PennWhite is delighted to announce that it will be supporting Stage 3 of the Tour of Britain professional cycle race when it visits Cheshire on 6th September.
The Tour of Britain is the UKs premier cycle race with roots going back to the 1950’s. In recent years it has expanded to an 8 stage race and is now classed as a “HC” level event by cycling’s world governing body, just one step below Grand Tours like the Tour de France.
Technical Director Mark Humphries explains the reasoning behind PennWhite’s involvement, “Stage 3 starts in Congleton where PennWhite was based for many years and goes past the business park in Middlewich where we are now based. When Cheshire East Council gave us the chance to sponsor the stage we felt it was a great opportunity to support both our local community and a sport in which the UK excels.”
